I’m Your Neighbor Intern, Delanie Honda of Wheaton College

Delanie “Lanie” Honda, an English Major at Wheaton College in Norton, MA, will join the I’m Your Neighbor project as a summer intern.  Selected by Wheaton as a Merit Scholar, Lanie’s contribution to this project is fully supported by the college.

Lanie, who hopes to pursue a career in publishing, has already served the written word in her community as a certified braille transcriber and as the writer of short biographies about local war veterans from the Civil War to Vietnam while working for the Carver County Historical Society in Waconia, MN.

The president of Wheaton’s Asian-American Coalition, Laine will spend her time with I’m Your Neighbor, researching children’s books by countries and cultures of origin, compiling review information, locating the book’s creators, and interviewing the creators for the website.
