Sikh American YA Novel

In respect to the victims of the tragedy in Wisconsin and in the fight to curb the ignorance and prejudice that caused it, we encourage you to purchase a copy of  the Sikh American young adult novel, Shine, Coconut Moon for your public or school library.  Neesha Meminger’s book about a teen girl exploring her Sikh heritage introduces the reader to some of the basics of the Sikh culture and faith.

We also recommend the series of Teaching Tolerance resources mentioned in the article, We Honor Sikhs by Learning About Them.
